According to the Orthodox calendar, July 8 is the day of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, whose love and family life have become a legend. Among the people, this holiday is known as Family, Love and Fidelity Day. On this day in Irkutsk, 104 couples will be joined in matrimony, 50 of them at the main Marriage Palace. In the region as a whole, 309 couples will legalize their relationships.And at the same time, another registry office will appear on the shore of Lake Baikal. On July 8, a wedding hall will open in Baikalsk. At 11 a.m., in a ceremonial setting, two couples - from Baikalsk and from the Kabansky District of Buryatia - will register their marriages.
As a reminder, in 2015, also on Love, Family and Fidelity Day, a new registry office branch opened in Listvyanka. That day, four couples began their family life there.
