Dresses, handbags and accessories from the early 19th to the mid-20th century that entered the Decembrist Museum’s collection in 2024.
On 12 December 2024 the exhibition “Gifts and Restoration” opened at the Irkutsk Volkonsky House Museum. It shows objects that entered the Decembrist Museum’s collection in 2024 and items after restoration. The collection is devoted to costume from the early 19th to the first half of the 20th century: dresses, handbags, accessories.
A dress from the 1820s was restored by the Irkutsk restorer O. K. Los, and a purse from the 1820s–early 1830s by the Academician I. E. Grabar All-Russian Art Research and Restoration Centre in Moscow. Among the donors are Tatyana Grinberg, who selects items on the history of costume for the museum at antique auctions, as well as O. I. Bogdanova, V. V. Rodkina and I. F. Nad.
