In Irkutsk, the Civil Mutual Aid Center opened, which will help residents find solutions to legal, social and psychological problems through a network of trained volunteers and partner NGOs. The center works as a kind of dispatch service, it does not solve issues for people, but offers a route to solve them and accompanies the client on an agreed schedule. The project site was the Siberian Academy of Law, Economics and Management, where they believe the new format will help both city residents and young people seeking opportunities for self realization.

On November 26, the “Civil Mutual Aid” Center opened in Irkutsk. According to the organizers’ concept, the volunteer center for citizen support is a public reception office operating on the principle of a social service dispatch center, connecting visitors with the Center’s volunteers and partner nonprofit organizations that can serve as consultants and help solve these problems. The Center does not solve people’s problems for them, but offers a “route” for solving them. You can seek advice at the center on legal, social, and psychological issues.
The main strength of the Center is specialized teams of volunteers who have completed training and agreed to work with clients for several hours a week on a pro bono basis. When a volunteer takes on a request, they receive a completed problem profile and then work with the client according to an agreed schedule. One of the driving forces behind the work of such a Center may be volunteers from among former applicants who are ready to help solve the problems of other people in similar situations, as well as students.
The Siberian Academy of Law, Economics and Management (21 Surikova St.) became the venue for the “Civil Mutual Aid” Center in Irkutsk. Speaking at the opening of the CGM, SAPEU Rector Artur Bychkov stated that modern youth need new forms of self-realization, and the new center will be able to help them with this.
