The Federal Tax Service of Russia has expanded the Online appointment booking service at the tax office. Since December 3 it is available to taxpayers in all regions of the country. Now citizens, entrepreneurs and legal entities can choose the tax office, service, day and time of the visit in advance to reduce waiting in line. The article also explains how booking through the FTS website works, what the appointment ticket contains, and how the service has already proven in demand in pilot regions.

Since December 3, the service has been available to taxpayers in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The service allows citizens to plan a visit to the tax inspectorate in advance and minimize waiting time in line. Appointments can be made on the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia and regional offices within a two-week period before the planned visit.
To make an appointment with an inspector, it is necessary to select the type of taxpayer (legal entity, individual entrepreneur, or individual), enter identification details in the appropriate fields, specify the inspectorate (TORM) and the type of service. After that, the program will allow you to choose the day and time of the appointment and will generate a ticket for visiting the inspectorate. The ticket will contain information about the identification details, the name of the service and the appointment time, directions, and the inspectorate’s contact information. The ticket for visiting the inspectorate is also sent to the email address if it was provided during online booking.
The ticket for visiting inspectorates where electronic queue systems are installed contains a PIN code that must be entered at the terminal in the service hall. The system will automatically process the information and issue a ticket for an appointment with the inspector.
The “Online Appointment Booking at the Inspectorate” service was first launched in May 2012 at inspectorates in the Lipetsk and Volgograd regions. In August, a number of inspectorates equipped with queue management systems in St. Petersburg, Tyumen, and Nizhny Novgorod joined the experiment.
During the service’s operation in these regions, 8,886 taxpayers have used the online appointment booking option to see a tax inspector. Legal entities use the service most often — 4,969 requests; in addition, 3,856 individuals and 1,113 individual entrepreneurs have used the service.
