In Irkutsk Region, a support center for social entrepreneurship and socially oriented NGOs opened, helping those who want to build business to solve socially important tasks.
As reported at the opening of the center by the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Sergei Eroshchenko, the institution’s task is to provide support for social entrepreneurship and the activities of socially oriented non-profit organizations. The center has all the necessary resources for the development of such areas. It will provide assistance to those who have decided to start their own business, whose main focus will be solving social problems.Within the center, the innovative project “School of Social Entrepreneurship of the Irkutsk Region” will operate. Classes will be held there on promoting socially oriented projects, and specialists will provide support for social entrepreneurship, helping in interaction with executive authorities and the expert community.
The proposal to create the center came from the non-profit organization “Agency for Strategic Initiatives” (the “Social Projects” direction). The Irkutsk Region is one of the “pilot” regions where this initiative is being implemented.
Sergei Eroshchenko:
— We intend to promote ideas aimed at solving social problems in the Irkutsk Region. Some issues cannot be solved by traditional methods alone. It is necessary to use methods of budget injections and attract business. To develop a clear action plan with deadlines and algorithms for implementing projects, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives helps us.
