In Irkutsk, a new sculptural composition Date is being prepared for installation, which will appear at the entrance to the Barguzin cinema. Author Ilya Stavsky notes that only the lamp was removed from the original concept, and the title itself changes the meaning and emphasizes not just a lover, but a lonely person waiting for a meeting. The figure will be placed directly on the sidewalk without a pedestal, so that every passerby can stand next to it.
As Ilya Stavsky said, the work does not differ much from the original concept. Only the lamppost under which the lover waited for the object of his adoration was removed from the composition. Everything else remained unchanged. “Date” is a more general title, which sets a different tone and places different emphasis. A man with a bouquet is not just a lover, he is a lonely person waiting for a meeting,” says Ilya.The young man with the bouquet will wait for the meeting at the entrance to the Barguzin cinema. The figure will be placed without a pedestal, directly on the sidewalk. Every passerby will be able to easily join his company.
The installation date of the composition is still open. Everything depends on when the sculpture arrives in Irkutsk.
