In Irkutsk, the emblem for the men's bandy world championship was chosen. The winning sketch was by Marina Russkikh from the RIEL printing center. More than 100 entries were submitted by 28 participants. The emblem will be used on posters, placards, souvenirs, and on an envelope and special stamp. The organizing committee also discussed preparations for sports venues and equipment purchases, and said work is on schedule.

28 people took part in the emblem competition, a quarter of them live outside the Irkutsk Region. The participants submitted more than 100 works. The selected one was a sketch by an Irkutsk resident, an employee of the RIEL printing center, Marina Russkikh.
After approval, the emblem is planned to be used on posters, placards, and souvenir products. “The emblem is simple and will be clear to everyone. It will also look good on various souvenir products – mugs, T-shirts, shirts, scarves, mittens,” noted Vladimir Matienko, chairman of the Bandy Federation of the Irkutsk Region and deputy chairman of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the Men’s Bandy World Championship.
In addition, there is an agreement with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Russian Post to issue an envelope with the championship emblem and a special stamp. The cancellation is planned to take place on the opening day of the Men’s Bandy World Championship in the press center, which will be located in the western stand of Trud Stadium.
Minister of Construction and Road Management of the Irkutsk Region Mikhail Litvin delivered a report on the organization of repair work to prepare sports facilities for the matches.
The organizing committee also discussed the list of equipment needed to outfit the sports facilities involved in the championship games. As Igor Ivanov, Minister of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region, said, the list of necessary equipment for the sports facilities has been approved by the governor of the Irkutsk Region. It includes metal detectors, eight ice-resurfacing machines, modern scoreboards, a set of video equipment for organizing broadcasts, acoustic systems, nets, a set of plastic seats, skate-sharpening machines, and more.
“Modern equipment will make it possible to hold the Men’s Bandy World Championship in Irkutsk at a high level. After the international competitions, it will remain at our stadiums and will be used for various sporting events,” the minister emphasized.
Overall, those present noted that preparations for the international event are proceeding as normal. At the next meeting of the organizing committee, it is planned to discuss the issue of ensuring safety and public order during the Men’s Bandy World Championship.
