In Irkutsk, acceptance continues for 42 children's and sports playgrounds, installed in autumn 2012 under a contract with the Krasnoyarsk company Yumags. The commission is finding issues with installation quality and landscaping, and the contractor must fix them by May. After reinspection, the city expects reliable, well arranged playgrounds where children can play in May.

Children’s playgrounds began to be installed in the fall of 2012. The auction took place on September 28. The winner was the Krasnoyarsk company Yumags. Under the contract, the contractor will equip 42 playgrounds in all districts of Irkutsk, including several sports ones. The total amount is 17,412 thousand rubles.
As a reminder, the first auction for the performance of work on equipping children’s and sports playgrounds was held on June 28, 2012. Four organizations submitted applications for it, but none of the firms showed up for the auction itself. The auction was declared invalid.
The contractor began work on installing the playgrounds in the fall. It was decided to extend the completion deadline to February 2013 because of the onset of low temperatures, at which it is impossible to carry out the work. Since the beginning of March, specialists from the working commission have been inspecting the quality of the new playgrounds.
“We check the quality of the installed equipment, the level of landscaping, whether there is fencing, trash bins, benches. At the moment there are a lot of remarks. We record all remarks and draw up a report of the working commission. By May, the contractor must eliminate the remarks. There are complaints about the installation of the equipment itself. In some places it will be dismantled and then reinstalled, more securely,” commented Dmitry Bondarchuk, head of the department for maintenance of the street and road network of the housing and utilities committee of the Irkutsk city administration.
The settlement with the contractor will be made only after a repeated acceptance of the quality of the work.
“The remarks are minor, all defects can be eliminated. We will additionally cover the playground areas with sand, just like the sandboxes; where approaches are required under the contract, we will asphalt the paths. The main thing is that safety has not been compromised: everything was installed according to the rules, the equipment was welded, concreted with additives that can be used down to -25 degrees. Now we will carry out additional strengthening of the structures. When it gets warm, we will repaint the complexes,” explained Pavel Nikolaev, a representative of the contractor company.
As Dmitry Bondarchuk noted, there are remarks today for every playground. Nevertheless, it is quite realistic to eliminate them by May: “In May, children will be able to play on reliable, beautiful, well-maintained playgrounds.”
