In Irkutsk, preparations are underway for a carnival that this year will have a children's theme. City Day coincides with Children's Day, so the parade will be devoted to the world of children's fantasies. Applications are accepted until April 27, and the parade itself will take place along Lenin Street on a new, more direct route. Organizers expect to gather no fewer participants than last year, when about five thousand people took part in the carnival.

“This year City Day coincided with Children’s Day, so the carnival will also be dedicated to children’s themes, the world of children’s fantasies,” Olga Aksamentova noted.
The carnival is coordinated by the municipal autonomous institution “Holiday.” Applications will be accepted until April 27.
“All the conditions for participating in the carnival are available on the Irkutsk city administration website; an auto-informer at 503-507 is also operating, and by calling it you can get the necessary information,” Olga Aksamentova said.
The carnival procession will take place along Lenin Street, from 3 Iyulya to Chkalova. This year the columns will not go around Kirov Square, but will proceed straight ahead. Near the building at 14B Lenin Street there will be a jury, whose composition is still being finalized. It will choose the best column. The winner will receive a cup and the right to open the carnival procession in 2014.
Last year about five thousand people took part in the carnival procession. This year, the organizers hope, there will be no fewer willing participants.
