In Irkutsk region illegal gambling venues continue to be shut down. Recently police stopped several salons, and a check is underway into the club at the Angara hotel. Residents play an important role by reporting suspicious gaming spots. In Shelekhov and Taishet gaming equipment has already been seized, and police continue to check new reports.
After gambling was banned in our region, all such establishments acquired illegal status. Offenders are taking unprecedented concealment measures to prolong the existence of their casinos. However, largely thanks to the support of citizens who report to the police about the operation of certain gaming clubs, there are fewer and fewer such gambling places. The internal affairs bodies receive letters and calls every day from concerned residents of the Angara region, with information about the locations of unlawful gambling halls. Each such report is met with an appropriate response from the police. At present, an investigation is being conducted into the activity of the club in the Angara hotel, and measures are being taken to identify the organizer.
It is worth noting that on May 4, 3 more gaming halls were closed in the region.
In the city of Shelekhov, police uncovered an internet café, and 6 system units with installed gaming programs were seized. In Tayshet, the activities of two internet clubs were shut down at once, and 24 units of gaming equipment were seized.
The police continue to identify illegal gambling establishments, as well as verify information about them received from citizens.
