The winner of the cycling race in the elite category was Denis Borovik from Usolye, who scored 54 points and confirmed his status as one of the strongest riders. Vladislav Litvintsev and Dmitry Kulikalov finished after him, and among veterans over 50, Irkutsk native Igor Popov was the best. The race was made more interesting by an unusual start through the square with a speed limit and a dramatic finish, when eight athletes broke ahead and decided the winners.

The winner in the “elite” category with the highest number of points (54) was the resident of Usolye, member of the Russian national team Denis Borovik. This athlete is the winner of last year’s cycling race. Second was another resident of Usolye, Vladislav Litvintsev, with 46 points, and Dmitry Kulikalov from Usolye-Sibirskoye, who scored 39 points.
Among veterans over fifty, the strongest was the resident of Irkutsk, Russian veteran group-race champion of 2010 Igor Popov, who outpaced Vladimir Kleshchev from the settlement of Ust-Ordynsky and Irkutsk resident Vladimir Latin.
The first three of the thirty laps, the riders covered through the park at a speed limit of forty kilometers per hour. This was done so that spectators could get a good look at the peloton (the main group of riders). Among them was seventy-year-old Vladimir Vyborov, a participant and prize winner of the first Gagarin race.
On the fourth lap, the speed limit was lifted, and the peloton immediately moved ahead, where eight intermediate finishes and one main finish awaited it every three laps. At each “intermediate” finish, the first four riders received points, and the winner of the competition was determined by the highest total.
During the race, eight athletes managed to break away from the peloton and, six laps before the end, rejoined it from behind, having lapped the main group and thereby earning twenty points each at once. It was from this group of eight that the winners were determined.
As part of the event, Deputy Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Dubrovin presented a certificate of Master of Sport of Russia of international class to Larisa Pankova, a participant in the 2012 Olympics in London.
