Tow trucks are returning to the city streets again, cars parked illegally and blocking traffic will now be sent immediately to the impound lot. The traffic police warn that if the owner does not appear within 15 minutes, the car will be towed, and towing will apply not only in the center but also in other problem areas of the city. The first day of storage at the impound lot will remain free, after that hourly charges will apply.

Tow trucks are returning to the streets of our city. All cars parked along the roadway in the city center will now again be immediately taken to the impound lot.
Let us remind you that a year ago they were operating very actively. And only a rare driver dared to leave a car under the sign “No Parking.” Because of the law that made tow-truck operations unprofitable, they disappeared from the city streets. But now it has turned out that motorists should not relax.

If within fifteen minutes the owner, whose parked car is obstructing traffic, does not appear near his vehicle and move it to another place, traffic police officers will use a tow truck.
For the first 24 hours the car will be kept at the impound lot free of charge, after that it will cost 30 rubles per hour. Dmitry Shishkin, senior inspector of the Traffic Police Patrol Service in Irkutsk, says that now they will constantly tow improperly parked cars, both on central streets and on the stretch of Lermontov Street near the polytechnic institute, where there are especially many violators, in short, everywhere rules are being broken.
Yesterday only one tow truck was working. Therefore, only the car of the most blatant violator was sent to the impound lot. The other cars were merely moved a few meters, to where parking is allowed.
