In Irkutsk, the city Honorary Family contest was summed up, honoring large, foster, and young families. Mayor Viktor Kondrashov noted the importance of parental care and especially thanked those who take in other peoples children. Winners in different categories received diplomas, valuable prizes, and furniture certificates, and will now represent Irkutsk at the regional stage of the contest.

The finalists of the contest were greeted by the Mayor of Irkutsk, Viktor Kondrashov.
“Parents who take a responsible approach to raising their children deserve immense gratitude. Even greater gratitude goes to people who take other people’s children into their families and give them their tenderness and love. This act can be called a feat,” said the city head. “I looked through the participants’ ‘business cards’ in the foyer and the families’ performances on stage with great interest. You are an example for all city residents. I sincerely wish everyone happiness, well-being, and all the very best.”
The jury faced a difficult task: to choose the very best from among the best families. In the end, in the “Large Family” category, first place was awarded to the Strygin family from the Oktyabrsky District, second place went to the Kosnaryov family from the Sverdlovsky District, and third place was taken by the Karpov family from the Pravoberezhny District.
Among the “Foster Families,” the Tarasov family from the Leninsky District was named the best. Second place went to the Matyunkin family from the Oktyabrsky District. Third place went to the Zhdanov family from the Pravoberezhny District.
In the “Young Family” category, the Gibanov family from the Pravoberezhny District won. Second place went to the Astapenko family from the Oktyabrsky District. Third place went to the Simonov family from the Sverdlovsky District.
The additional “Audience Choice Award” was given to the Zhdanov family from the Pravoberezhny District.
All participants received diplomas, valuable prizes, and bouquets of flowers.
For 1st place – certificates for the purchase of furniture worth 14,500 rubles.
For 2nd place – certificates for the purchase of furniture worth 9,500 rubles.
For 3rd place – certificates for the purchase of furniture worth 5,000 rubles.
Now the winning families will defend the honor of Irkutsk at the regional contest “Honored Family of the Irkutsk Region.”
