At the Urban Planning Irkutsk 2013 exhibition, projects from 20 architectural and construction firms and 32 works by students of Irkutsk universities are presented. Exhibits include completed city facilities, kindergarten projects, Angara embankment improvement, and lighting for the Moscow Gates. The results of the 5th review competition will be announced on June 7, and the best works will be judged by a 14 member jury.

This year, the exhibition “Urban Planning. Irkutsk-2013” features works by 20 design, architectural, and construction organizations involved in the construction and reconstruction of important urban facilities, as well as 32 works by students of Irkutsk Technical University and Irkutsk Pedagogical University.
The professionals’ works are completed projects that have already been realized or can be brought to life. Student creativity can be used as a source of ideas, specialists note. And if such an idea seems interesting to one of the investors, a project can later be developed based on it.
Among the many works are the monuments to Leonid Gaidai and his characters, Governor Yuri Nozhikov, the sculptures “Babr,” “Tourist,” and “In Love,” which have already adorned Irkutsk’s squares and streets, as well as the project for bank reinforcement and reconstruction of the Angara embankment, and the lighting project for the triumphal arch “Moscow Gates.”
The exhibition presents projects for four kindergartens. One of them, in the Baykalsky microdistrict, will open its doors in July.
The 5th review-competition "Urban Planning. Irkutsk-2013" includes three main sections: “projects,” “buildings,” and “young generation,” with 16 categories provided for.
The works submitted to the conference will be evaluated by a competent jury of 14 people. It includes representatives of the administration of the city of Irkutsk, the Irkutsk Region, as well as specialists from leading design institutes.
The results of the review-competition will be announced on June 7.
