A creative festival, Olkhon 2013, is being prepared on Olkhon, promising to be one of the brightest cultural events in Irkutsk Region. The program includes the all Russia bard camp Baikal, the fire festival Ancient Fires of Olkhon, and the road rallies Pacific Ocean Baikal and Moscow Baikal. The festival will bring together singer songwriters from Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Vladivostok, Moscow and Irkutsk Region to support interest in author songs and fire shows.

The creative festival “Olkhon-2013,” which is held in the most beautiful place on Lake Baikal, is intended to become the brightest cultural event in the life of the Irkutsk Region and represents the most interesting open-air festival of the region’s creativity. The All-Russian bard camp “Baikal,” successfully held since 2005, and the fire festival “Ancient Fires of Olkhon,” at which fire-show masters will compete, have already received applications from teams from Kharkiv, Krasnoyarsk, Zheleznogorsk, Usolye-Sibirskoye, and other cities.
On June 25, the bard road rally “Pacific Ocean – Baikal” will set off from Vladivostok to Olkhon; 6 teams have applied, including a singing crew of internationalist soldiers, and the road rally will pass through Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Shilka, Chita, Ulan-Ude, and other settlements.
The return road rally “Moscow - Baikal” will set off from Moscow on June 27; 2 crews have already applied, and the route will pass through the cities of Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan - Ufa - Chelyabinsk - Omsk - Novosibirsk - Krasnoyarsk.
Singer-songwriters from Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Vladivostok, Moscow, and representatives of various cities in the Irkutsk Region will take part in the concerts and competitions of author’s song.
The goal of the festival, according to the organizers, is to support interest in author’s song, to attract more and more new friends into the circle of its admirers, as well as to support and develop the original creative genre of fire-show. At the same time, festival guests are given the opportunity to hear classic songs of the genre both from the lips of the most famous bards and to discover the names of new, hitherto unknown performers of author’s song. Representatives of all regions, as well as guests and lovers of active recreation, are invited to take part in the festival’s concerts and competitions.
