Around 5 p.m. in the village of Sheragul, a BMW X5 struck a cyclist who suddenly rode out onto the roadway. As a result of the accident, the 14-year-old teenager sustained serious injuries and was taken to the intensive care unit. Another 7-year-old child was on the bicycle frame. Doctors assessed his condition as satisfactory and hospitalized him in the trauma department.
According to the results of the medical examination, no alcohol was detected in the foreign car driver’s blood. An investigation into the accident is underway.
The Irkutsk Region police strongly recommend that parents pay special attention to how their children spend their time during the summer period. It is at this time that minors are often left to their own devices, which increases the likelihood of accidents.
