In the Irkutsk region, two brazen car money thefts happened in a short time. In one case, a man who came to choose a car had a bag with one million rubles disappear from the cabin, in another, an unknown person broke the Mercedes window and stole 600 thousand rubles. Police remind people to follow basic personal safety rules to avoid becoming victims of criminals.
The first theft occurred on Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsii Street, near a car dealership, where a man with a large sum of money had come to choose a car. For some reason, the purchase did not go through. When the driver began to pull away from the parking lot in reverse, he heard a characteristic thud against the body of the car. After getting out and inspecting the foreign-made car, he noticed no damage either to his own car or to the gray foreign-made car parked behind it. Returning to the car, the man discovered that the bag containing one million rubles, set aside to buy the car, was missing. Some time later, on Karl Liebknecht Street, an unknown criminal broke the window of a Mercedes 600 model and stole a bundle of banknotes from the glove compartment. When the investigative task force arrived, the owner of the foreign-made car told them that shortly before the incident she had withdrawn 600,000 rubles from her bank account.
The police remind you that following basic personal safety rules will help you avoid becoming the target of criminals’ malicious intent and keep your property safe.
