The Irkutsk region government will support youth initiatives in ecology, social aid, modern technologies, and fighting social harms. At a meeting with the regional head, young activists presented current and new projects and discussed joint steps against drugs, alcoholism, and corruption. Special attention was drawn to environmental campaigns, in which over 7 thousand young residents of the region took part in a year.
The Government of the Irkutsk Region will support projects proposed by youth, public, and political youth organizations. Young activists presented the head of the region with projects already being implemented and planned for implementation in the areas of ecology, social support for vulnerable groups of the population, the use of modern information technologies, and combating socially negative phenomena.It should be noted that in one of the most large-scale areas of activity — environmental protection — more than 7,000 young residents of the region took part over the past year. The campaigns carried out were aimed at eliminating unauthorized garbage dumps and reducing harmful impacts on the region’s nature.
The meeting participants discussed joint actions with the regional authorities to combat the spread of drugs and alcoholism among young people, as well as projects aimed at fighting corruption.
As a result of the meeting, the Governor proposed submitting the youth initiatives and projects to the ministries of the regional Government for discussion and implementation.
