In Irkutsk, the competition commission supported several small and medium business projects at once, noting their social value. Among them are a sportswear atelier, a mushroom farm, hydraulic equipment production, a cafe with plans for a pastry shop, and an initiative to collect and recycle waste paper to improve the citys ecology.
Among them is individual entrepreneur Anna Nepomnyashchikh, who two years ago opened a workshop for sewing sportswear from Polartec fabric, designed for sports and active recreation. To expand the business, the team needs to rent an exhibition space in the city center and set up an order intake point there. Such enterprises are a vivid example of how a person passionate about their work, thanks to their hobby, creates jobs for others. The closed-cycle production complex “Mushroom Farm” will make it possible to establish in Irkutsk the production of substrate blocks for growing oyster mushrooms, a workshop for processing mushrooms, and the production of compound feed. The enterprise plans to organize the production and processing of oyster mushrooms.
The enterprise “Enerpred” has been producing hydraulic and pneumatic power units for more than 10 years, which are ordered in other Russian cities and in some European countries. The enterprise applied to the Committee for Economic Affairs for compensation of the costs of certifying the ISO 9001-2011 quality management system, without which it is problematic to work in the European market.
The “Russian Dream” café in the settlement of Zhilkino is one of the few places where you can have an inexpensive lunch. The enterprise has plans to create a confectionery workshop, so LLC “Russian Dream” applied to the Committee for Economic Affairs for compensation of the cost of the equipment purchased.
Entrepreneur Andrey Kanin collects glossy paper from enterprises in his truck in order to hand it over for further recycling. The business is still tiny — it fits in a garage, and the entrepreneur is not doing it entirely for the money. Rather, it is to make Irkutsk cleaner. In addition to paper, Andrey Kanin is also ready to collect cardboard, but for this he needs to buy a press, a worktable, scales, and a cargo trolley for the truck. After purchasing the equipment, the cardboard can be processed into paper blocks, from which some enterprises in the Irkutsk region will be able to produce recycled cardboard. In this case, in addition to financial support, the entrepreneur can receive organizational support. Separate waste collection is one of the most important issues for the city, and entrepreneurs willing to work in this business sector will become part of the city of Irkutsk’s large municipal solid waste sorting system.
Members of the competition commission on support measures for small and medium-sized businesses in the city of Irkutsk noted the social significance of the projects presented and made positive decisions on all applications.
