A 32 year old taxi worker has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder. According to police, during the conflict he, while drunk, stabbed his opponent nine times with a kitchen knife. The attacker was subdued by the victim's friend, and now faces up to 12 years in prison.

The conflict between the two Irkutsk residents took place on 2nd Zheleznodorozhnaya Street in the regional center. As police established, one of the participants in the incident, while intoxicated, used a kitchen knife to strike his opponent nine times. The assailant was subdued by a friend of the victim who was nearby and handed the troublemaker over to the police.
At present, a criminal case has been opened on the fact of attempted murder. The taxi driver could face up to 12 years in prison.
