On the mountain road near the settlement of Kultuk, a multi ton MAZ with trailer overturned, carrying about 20 tons of watermelons to Zabaykalsky Krai. Preliminary, the crash was caused by brake failure on a sharp turn, a third of the load was spoiled, and the driver with minor injuries was hospitalized. Now the truck has been set upright, and police are investigating the crash.
The previous evening, on the winding road leading to the settlement of Kultuk in the Slyudyansky District, a multi-ton MAZ tractor truck with a trailer overturned. According to preliminary information, the accident occurred because the truck, which was heading to Zabaykalsky Krai, suffered brake failure on a sharp turn.As a result of the ДТП, the truck carrying about 20 tons of watermelons tipped onto its side. One third of the produce was found unfit for consumption. The driver of the road train was injured in the accident and, with minor injuries and bruises, was hospitalized in a medical facility.
With the help of special equipment and EMERCOM personnel, the MAZ cargo truck was righted onto its wheels. The vehicle will be placed in the temporary impound lot of the traffic police.
A police inquiry is being conducted into the accident by the inquiry authorities.
