In the Irkutsk region, forestry departments received new vehicles, special equipment and communications tools for more effective forest protection, fire prevention and firefighting. Keys have already been handed to several forestry departments in the region, and 40 vehicles worth nearly 20 million rubles were purchased under the regional program. The remaining equipment will be handed over to the territorial offices of the forestry agency by the end of September.

The Irkutsk Region has reason to be proud that there have been no forest fires in the region for a long period of time. New vehicles, special equipment, and communications devices—all of this will enable foresters to better carry out their duties in protecting forests, preventing fires, and extinguishing them.
Today, the keys to the vehicles were handed over to the Alarsk, Balagansk, Bratsk, Zima, Irkutsk, Kirensk, Nukut, Olkhon, Slyudyanka, Tulun, Usolye, Cheremkhovo, Shelekhov, and Ust-Uda forestry districts. As noted by Vladimir Shkoda, head of the Irkutsk Region Forest Management Agency, a total of 40 vehicles were purchased under the regional program. About 20 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for these purposes.
The remaining vehicles will be handed over to the territorial departments of the Forest Management Agency by the end of September this year.
