In Irkutsk, a new system for catching and housing stray animals has begun. Spetsavtokhozyaystvo has involved all major market organizations and signed an agreement with animal rights activists for public oversight and a single call center. Residents can now submit requests by one phone number or directly to shelters serving the districts, and after capture the animals await paperwork and necessary veterinary procedures.

This year, a fundamentally new system for providing services in the capture and maintenance of stray animals has been introduced. “Spetsavtokhozyaistvo” has signed subcontract agreements with all participants in the functioning market for the provision of these services, namely: the K-9 kennel, the “Five Stars” shelter, and “Dalpromles.” In addition, an additional agreement has been concluded with the animal welfare organization “Irkutsk Society for the Protection of Animals,” which has taken on the function of public oversight and the organization of a single call center.”
Starting today, by calling the single phone number of this call center, residents of Irkutsk can leave requests indicating the location where stray animals are present. In addition, each of the organizations has its own separate numbers for receiving requests. In the territory of the Pravoberezhny District, “K-9” operates - tel. 564-490, the Sverdlovsky and Oktyabrsky districts are served by “Dalpromles” - tel. 723-215, and requests for the Leninsky District are accepted by “Five Stars” - tel. 606-361.
After capture, the animals are brought to the shelter, where documents are prepared for each dog. The animals undergo the necessary veterinary procedures: treatment against parasites, deworming, branding, and, if necessary, castration and sterilization.
