He may have died after being hit by an unknown car, and had earlier been reported missing. Police are seeking witnesses to the crash and ask anyone with information to call the listed numbers.
On August 20, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk District received a report that a man with no signs of life had been found on the roadside near the Yubileyny-1 gardening association.According to preliminary information from the forensic medical examiner, the pedestrian died as a result of injuries, possibly sustained in a hit-and-run involving an unidentified vehicle.
The identity of the 50-year-old man has now been established. It is also known that the deceased’s common-law wife had previously reported him missing.
