In Irkutsk, a raid at a warehouse of an alcohol wholesaler retailer stopped counterfeit liquor sales. About 15 products had fake labels.

A raid to curb the sale of counterfeit alcohol was carried out at the warehouse of one of the wholesale and retail alcohol companies in Irkutsk. The reason for the raid was a complaint filed against the entrepreneur and approved by the city prosecutor’s office. The authenticity of federal special stamps and excise stamps was determined using a special device that establishes the authenticity of products from the Moscow Printing Factory of Goznak (MPFG).
During the inspection, an employee of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Consumer Market Development, Tatyana Makarova, identified about 15 types of alcoholic products in which the printing on the stamps did not meet the required standards: the image was blurred, the colors and coating of the stamp did not match, and the device could not determine the unique identification number of the product.
Operational officers from the Economic Crimes Unit of the Leninsky District began seizing documents and preparing to confiscate the alcoholic products for further verification of the counterfeit suppliers. The contents of the bottles will be sent to a laboratory for analysis, and administrative or criminal proceedings will be initiated against the seller.
Under current legislation, the proven fact in court of selling products with counterfeit stamps carries a fine of 40,000 rubles for the entrepreneur and revocation of the alcohol sales license. In about 2 weeks, the collected documents are transferred to the court, which issues a decision to destroy the batch of counterfeit alcohol.
