On the shore of Lake Baikal, an unusual business school began in the format of an immersive game created by Vladimir Tarasov in Soviet times. 60 young entrepreneurs, in fierce competition and unexpected scenarios, from starting a business to prison and presidential power, learn to see business and life anew. The Irkutsk administration supported the camp, betting on the development of small and medium business.
Why do adult people, young entrepreneurs, play, taking time away from business and family? The technology of the business training “immersive game” was born back in Soviet times. Its author is Vladimir Tarasov. The business camp is conducted by trainers from the Tallinn School of Managers. At the beginning of September, classes at the business school began on the shore of Lake Baikal. There are desks and a blackboard, notebooks and pens here - the comparisons end there. The classes take place in the form of a game - every schoolchild dreams of that. The “students” are young, but already accomplished individuals. Each of the 60 participants in the school has already tried their hand at business.
The distinctive feature of the training technology is that the camp participants work and invent in new conditions, cut off from everyday concerns. As a result, young entrepreneurs will be able to gain a new perspective on life and business, and meet like-minded people.
During the training game, they either create their own business or become unemployed. And also - they end up in “prison,” interact with criminals, become Presidents, or lose power. Immersion in new conditions makes it possible to think “from a clean slate” in a mode of “compressed” time, confined space, and harsh conditions of competition.
The main costs associated with organizing the training were taken on by the administration of the city of Irkutsk. Supporting young entrepreneurs is one of the areas of work of the city authorities in the sphere of small and medium-sized business development.
