In Irkutsk, a schoolgirl was poisoned by pills

In Irkutsk, police are investigating the death of a 15 year old schoolgirl who, according to preliminary data, took her own life by ingesting a large amount of medicine. Witnesses said they saw the girl taking pills by the handful, and a farewell note addressed to her ex boyfriend was found among her belongings. Investigators are now checking other possible causes of the tragedy, including relations at school and in the family.

Police officers who arrived at the scene established that a 15-year-old girl, a 9th-grade student at one of Irkutsk schools, had decided to take her own life. The ambulance crew that arrived pronounced her dead from poisoning by medicinal drugs.
During the interview conducted, witnesses were identified who saw the girl taking handfuls of medicinal drugs. A suicide note was found among her personal belongings, in which she says goodbye to her former boyfriend.
Police officers are now working through other possible causes of the tragedy, including relationships at school and in the family. An investigation into this incident is being carried out jointly with investigators from the Investigative Committee.
