In Irkutsk, a brutal murder of a 58 year old taxi driver is being investigated, his body with 13 stab wounds was found near Batereynaya station. Money, documents and valuables were left behind, and investigators found a knife nearby that may have been the murder weapon. Police and investigators are now identifying and searching for those involved in the attack.
A report of a crime that occurred in the area of the Batareynaya station was received by the duty unit yesterday evening. At the scene, on the exit from the roadway along Naberezhnaya Street, investigators and experts found a Toyota Wish foreign car and a 58-year-old man with signs of violent death. During the initial examination, specialists counted 13 stab wounds on his body.According to preliminary information, the taxi driver’s money, documents, and valuables were not stolen. Not far from the scene of the attack, members of the investigative task force found the weapon used in the crime — a knife.
At present, a criminal case has been opened in connection with this especially grave crime on the grounds of an offense providing for liability for murder. Significant forces of the Irkutsk police and investigators from the Investigative Committee have been deployed to identify and detain those responsible.
