Shooting competitions for men and women over 20 will be held in Irkutsk. Participants will do rifle and pistol events in several disciplines. Noted athletes are entered, including Deaflympic champion Valeria Kladovikova, European Championship medalist Lilia Sokolova, and Alexander Sokolov and Oleg Portnyagin. On the same days, the open Priangarye junior championship will be held at the regional shooting sports club.
Men and women over the age of 20 may participate in the competition. The athletes will have to perform rifle and pistol events. Thus, women will compete in the rifle events MV-9, MV-5 and VP-4, as well as the pistol events PP-2 and MP-5. Men will compete in the rifle events: MV-9, MV-5, VP-6, as well as the pistol events – PP-3, MP-11, PP-5, or MP-8.Well-known athletes are taking part in the competition – the champion of the Deaflympic Games in shooting in Sofia in 2013, Valeria Kladovikova, and the bronze medalist of the European Shooting Championships in Osijek in 2013, Liliya Sokolova. In addition, our region will be represented at the competition by London Olympian Alexander Sokolov and the 2013 Irkutsk Region shooting champion Oleg Portnyagin.
On these same days, the open championship of Priangarye in shooting among juniors will be held at the Irkutsk Regional Shooting and Sports Club of the DOSAAF Russia Regional Branch.
The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region, the Irkutsk Region Shooting Sports Federation, and the regional branch of the DOSAAF Russia Shooting Union.
