According to investigators, he offered general protection for 70 thousand rubles to a company that violated fire safety requirements, but was detained while receiving the money. The court imposed a fine of 2.1 million rubles and banned him from holding government posts for a year. The sentence has already entered into force.
The Irkutsk District Court has sentenced the head of the territorial department of the regional forestry agency for the Goloustnensky forestry district, accused of receiving a bribe by an official.At the beginning of the year, a senior state forestry inspector identified a violation of fire safety requirements on the territory of the forestry enterprise by one of the region’s companies. The official offered to accept 70,000 rubles from him for general patronage, so as not to bring the guilty individuals and the enterprise itself, as a legal entity, to administrative liability. When the money was being handed over, the forestry inspector was detained by police officers.
By the court’s verdict, the man was sentenced to a fine of 30 times the amount of the bribe — 2.1 million rubles — with deprivation of the right to hold positions as a representative of public authorities for a period of 1 year. The court’s verdict was appealed, but it was left unchanged and entered into legal force.
