The Weightlifting Cup will be held in Irkutsk Region, bringing together teams from the region's cities and helping identify the strongest athletes for the Siberian Federal District championship. Men and women will compete individually and as teams in several weight classes. Organizers hope the tournament will improve skills and popularize weightlifting in the region.
The competitions are being held with the aim of popularizing weightlifting in the region, improving the athletic skill of the participants, and are intended to identify the best athletes for further participation in the Championship of the Siberian Federal District.Teams from the cities of the Irkutsk Region have been admitted to participate in the competitions. The team composition is as follows: for men – nine people, one coach, and one judge. For women – seven people, one coach, and one judge. Men with a second sports rank and women with a second junior rank in weightlifting are allowed to compete. The competitions for men and women are individual-team events.
Men will compete in the following weight categories: 56, 62, 69, 77, 85, 94, 105, and over 105 kg. Among women, the Irkutsk Region Cup is held in the following weight categories: 48, 53, 58, 63, 69, 75, and over 75 kg.
The organizers of the competitions are the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region, the Weightlifting Federation of the Irkutsk Region, and the Weightlifting Federation of the city of Zima.
