On the day of the Olympic Torch Relay, public transport routes will be changed

On November 24 in Irkutsk, due to road closures on several streets and in the city center, bus trolleybus and tram routes will be significantly changed, and some routes will be temporarily canceled. Restrictions will affect Lermontov, the HES dam, Zhukov Avenue, Baikalskaya, Sovetskaya, December Events, and the Kirov Square area, so passengers should check their routes in advance. The article details how public transport will run during the day and which trips will not operate.

From 09:35 to 13:00, the following streets will be closed to traffic: 2nd Zheleznodorozhnaya St. – Lermontov St. (on the section from Mayakovsky St. to the “State University” stop):
- bus routes No. 21, 61, 67, when traveling from the city center after Timiryazeva St., will be diverted via Sedova St., Kozhova St., 3rd of July St., then via the Academic Bridge, the Sverdlovsky District bypass road, and continuing along the routes; when traveling to the city center after the Sverdlovsky District bypass road - via the Academic Bridge, Sedova St., Trilissera St., Baikalskaya St., Sovetskaya St., Sedova St., Lenina St., Dzerzhinskogo St., and continuing along the routes;
- bus route No. 64, when traveling to the Universitetsky microdistrict after Karl Marx St., will operate via Lenina St., 3rd of July St., the Academic Bridge, the Sverdlovsky District bypass road, and continuing along the routes; when traveling from the Universitetsky microdistrict after the Sverdlovsky District bypass road - via the Academic Bridge, Sedova St., Trilissera St., Baikalskaya St., Timiryazeva St., Litvinova St., Dzerzhinskogo St., and continuing along the routes.
During the period when traffic is closed on Lermontov St. and GES Square from 9:30 to 13:00, trolleybus routes No. 1, 7, 8, 10, 10k will be suspended.
During the period when traffic is closed on Lermontov St. – Akademicheskaya St. – the GES dam from 10:35 to 13:00, bus routes No. 10t, 18, 55, 57 will be closed.
During the period when traffic is closed on the GES dam from 11:30 to 13:00:
- bus routes No. 2, 2k, when traveling to the city center after Zakharova St., will operate via Mukhinoi St., Akademicheskaya St., Starokuzmikhinskaya St., the Academic Bridge, Sedova St., Trilissera St., Baikalskaya St.; when traveling to the Yubileiny microdistrict after Timiryazeva St. – via Sedova St., Kozhova St., 3rd of July St., the Academic Bridge, Starokuzmikhinskaya St., Akademicheskaya St., Mukhinoi St., Zakharova St., and continuing along the routes.
- bus route No. 34, when traveling to the city center after Yakobi St., will be diverted via Anosova St., Mukhinoi St., Akademicheskaya St., Starokuzmikhinskaya St., the Academic Bridge, Sedova St., Trilissera St., Baikalskaya St.; when traveling from the city center after Timiryazeva St. – via Sedova St., Kozhova St., 3rd of July St., the Academic Bridge, Starokuzmikhinskaya St., Akademicheskaya St., Mukhinoi St., Zakharova St., Yakobi St.
From 11:20 to 13:30, traffic will be closed on Zhukov Avenue in the Solnechny microdistrict. Trolleybus routes No. 1, 3, 5 and bus routes No. 16, 16s, 16k, 87 will operate only up to the GES dam ring road (Baikalskaya St.).
During the period when traffic is closed on Baikalskaya St. (on the section from Dybovsky St. to the Baikal-Arena sports complex) from 14:50 to 15:50, bus routes No. 16, 16s, 16k, 87 will be diverted along Zhukov Ave. to the “Lodochnaya” stop.
During the period when traffic is closed on Sovetskaya St. and Shiryamova St. from 15:30 to 16:30:
- bus route No. 61, when traveling to the city center after Dzerzhinskogo St., will operate via Litvinova St., Timiryazeva St., and continuing along the route;
- bus route No. 20, when traveling to the city center after Dzerzhinskogo St., will operate via Chekhova St., K. Marksa St., and continuing along the route;
- trolleybus route No. 4 will be suspended.
During the period when traffic is closed on Dekabrskikh Sobytiy St. from 16:00 to 17:00:
- tram routes No. 3 and 6 will be suspended;
- tram route No. 1, when traveling to the city center, will operate up to the “Volzhskaya St.” stop;
- tram routes No. 2, 5 will operate via the “Volzhskaya St.” stop (in both directions);
- bus route No. 20, when traveling from the airport, will be diverted via Sovetskaya St., Baikalskaya St., Timiryazeva St., Lenina St., and continuing along the routes;
- bus route No. 5k, when traveling to the Central Market after Deputatskaya St., will operate via Trilissera St., Partizanskaya St.
During the period when traffic is closed in the area of Kirov Square from 17:00 to 19:30:
- bus routes No. 6, 13, 14, 28, 28r, 29, 30, 37, 39, 60, 65, 66, when traveling from the city center after Sukhe-Batora St., will operate via Nizhnyaya Naberezhnaya St., Surikova St., Gavrilova St., Chkalova St., the Glazkovsky Bridge, and continuing along the routes;
- bus routes No. 8, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 64, 67, when traveling from the city center after Lenina St., will be diverted via Zhelyabova St., Sukhe-Batora St., Nizhnyaya Naberezhnaya St., Surikova St., Gavrilova St., Chkalova St., the Glazkovsky Bridge, and continuing along the routes;
- bus route No. 16k will operate up to the “C. Market” stop;
- bus routes No. 6, 8, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 28, 28r, 29, 30, 33, 37, 39, 60, 64, 65, 66, 67, when traveling to the city center after Chkalova St., will operate via Marata St., Sverdlova St., Lenina St., and continuing along the routes.
On November 24, bus routes No. 7k, 11, 24, 42, 43, 45, 49, 54, 56, 77, 80, 84, 90, 99 and trolleybus route No. 6 will not operate.
