In the Angara region about 20 thousand schoolchildren will get a diploma this year, along with new final exam and admission rules. To get a diploma now you must pass Russian and math, and those planning university or college must choose subjects in advance. The list of entrance exams is now fixed and does not depend on the school. The article also covers the Unified State Exam dates, the end of the second round and the plus point rule, as well as benefits for olympiad winners who can still be awarded 100 points and an excellent grade automatically.

In the Angara region, about 20,000 school students will receive a certificate of secondary general education this year. It is time for school graduates to think about which exams they will take. After all, by March 1 they must submit applications to participate in the Unified State Exam, indicating the subjects they have chosen to take. The final certification has undergone major changes this year.
The mandatory condition for receiving a certificate is now passing two core exams - in the Russian language and mathematics.
If a graduate does not wish to continue their education, they may not take the exams in other subjects. If, however, today’s eleventh-grader plans to enter a university or a secondary specialized educational institution, then the results of exams in four specialized subjects, depending on the chosen field of study, will be considered for admission. One of them – the Russian language – is mandatory for admission to any university, whether humanitarian or technical. The other three depend on the university profile and the chosen specialty. At the same time, the Unified State Exam in mathematics is mandatory only as a graduation exam. For admission to a university, it is not needed by applicants to humanities programs, and therefore a school “C” in this subject will not be an obstacle for them.
The government has approved a strict list of entrance exams for all specialties and fields of study. No university will be able to change it at its own discretion. And from this comes the most important conclusion: all educational institutions with the same profile will accept the same sets of Unified State Exam certificates. In practice, this means one thing: no matter which university future physicists apply to, for example, all of them will have to take the Unified State Exam in the same subjects.
A foreign language is mandatory for admission to many specialties. Tests have been prepared in English, German, French, and Spanish. No matter how good an applicant’s knowledge may be, for example, of Chinese, it will not help them when applying.
Gold and silver medals in schools have not been abolished, but whether they will affect anything upon admission is still unknown. However, benefits for winners and prizewinners of all-Russian Olympiads will remain; they will automatically be awarded 100 on the Unified State Exam and an A in the certificate.
Graduation exams will take place from May 26 to June 19. Some students will be able to take the Unified State Exam ahead of schedule – from April 20 to 29. The second wave of the Unified State Exam has been canceled this year.
The “plus one point” principle has also been canceled. And if last year’s graduates, by submitting a completely blank sheet, received a C, then this year’s students will have to work for a C.
Enrollment in universities will take place by August 10. From now on, the minimum score threshold for admission to the ranks of university students will be set by Rosobrnadzor. Previously, universities themselves handled this, so for unpopular specialties they would even admit students with 15 points, which corresponded to a D.
Good luck to you, graduates.
