In Irkutsk, police and an explosives expert neutralized a live RGD 5 grenade found at the given address. It was stored for years in a local womans home, likely hidden by her late husband. The grenade was taken to a range for destruction.

Police officers immediately arrived at the address specified in the report and examined the find. A bomb disposal specialist determined that it was an RGD-5 offensive anti-personnel fragmentation grenade.
It was established that the munition had been stored in the Irkutsk woman’s house for several years, while the housewife was not even aware of it. Most likely, the grenade had been hidden in the wardrobe by her now deceased husband.
OMON officers transported the live ordnance to a training range for further destruction.
