In Irkutsk, two murders occurred in one day, both after drinking parties and quarrels between acquaintances. In one case, a woman seriously injured the attacker, in another, the suspect tried to hide the body of the murdered guest. Police remind, during holidays alcohol abuse can end in tragedy.

The first alarming report came to Police Department No. 9 on Saturday. The victim reported that a murder had been committed in her apartment on Urozhaynaya Street. At the scene, the investigative task force found a young couple. The 23-year-old man was already showing no signs of life, and the homeowner was in critical condition. The victim was urgently taken to the regional hospital.
It is known that shortly before the incident, the young people had invited an acquaintance to visit them. While drinking alcohol, an argument broke out between the men, during which one of the instigators grabbed a knife from the table and stabbed his opponent in the chest. After that, he decided to deal with the witness to the crime as well, but the woman resisted and seriously wounded the offender.
During operational search measures, police officers detained a 38-year-old man who had previously been convicted of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. He is now in the hospital, after which he will be brought to criminal responsibility.
Another incident occurred the following day. At about two o'clock in the morning, the duty unit of Police Department No. 1 received a report that in the garages located on Klara Tsetkin Street in the regional center, there was the body of an unknown man. Police officers who arrived at the scene preliminarily established that the death of the previously convicted 39-year-old man was the result of a stab wound to the chest.
During operational search measures, the suspect in the murder was detained a few hours later. It was established that the deceased had come to his acquaintance's apartment to celebrate the upcoming New Year holidays. While drinking alcohol, an argument broke out between them, as a result of which the homeowner stabbed his guest several times with a knife. Realizing that the man had died from the injury, he took the body to a nearby garage cooperative, then returned home and tried to conceal the traces of the crime.
The detained man is now in a temporary detention facility; he has fully confessed to what he did. On these facts, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region has opened criminal cases under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Murder).
The Irkutsk police warn: do not abuse alcoholic beverages during the holidays. While intoxicated, you become easy prey for a criminal.
