In Ust-Ilimsk, three foreign cars were stolen from a garage in the 11th microdistrict, a BMW 525, Toyota Camry and Subaru Legacy, belonging to different owners. Police found the cars and garage had no alarm, and the owners left the keys and documents inside, which the thieves used. During the Intercept operation, the direction of the stolen cars was found, and one, a damaged Subaru Legacy, was found 160 kilometers from the city after a crash.

A local entrepreneur contacted the intermunicipal police department and reported that cars had been stolen from his garage in the city’s 11th microdistrict: a BMW-525, a Toyota Camry, and a Subaru Legacy, belonging to different owners.
During the investigation, police officers established that neither the cars nor the garage box were equipped with an alarm system. Moreover, the owners of the foreign-made cars, when leaving the garage in the evening, left the ignition keys and documents in the cabins, which in principle made it easier for the criminals to carry out their criminal plan.
An operational plan, “Interception,” was put into effect at the police department, and as a result of its implementation it was established that all three cars had headed toward Bratsk. One of them, the Subaru Legacy, was found damaged 160 kilometers from the city on the roadside by investigators. The driver-thief clearly lost control and crashed into a barrier.
