Irkutsk Mayor Viktor Kondrashov personally checked at night how snow is being cleared in the city and noted that equipment is working in all districts, but due to heavy nonstop snowfall cleanup must be intensified. He ordered additional outside organizations to be brought in to avoid emergencies and keep traffic moving on the main roads. Irkutskavtodor also asks residents to understand the equipment and not leave cars in the way of snowplows.
«I personally drove around the city tonight and checked how the snow is being cleared,” said Irkutsk Mayor Viktor Kondrashov. “The vehicles are out in all districts of the city, and Avtodor is working. But we must take into account that the snowfall is heavy, and the precipitation is not stopping, so I am instructing that additional outside organizations be brought in, which will operate in parallel with our enterprise. This is necessary so that emergency situations do not arise on the roads of Irkutsk, and residents can move along the main roads.”At Irkutskavtodor, residents of Irkutsk are asked to be understanding toward the equipment at work and not to park cars in its path. Throughout the day, snow-clearing machines will move around the city, clearing the roads.
