Irkutsk police quickly found the 32 year old woman reported missing by her mother. She was safe at a relative's home, and the police report was due to a conflict with a friend. An investigation is underway.

Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Irkutsk established the whereabouts of a girl whose abduction was reported to the police by her mother.
Last Friday at about 6 p.m., a resident of the Novo-Lenino microdistrict of the regional center contacted the duty unit. The Irkutsk woman said that her 32-year-old daughter had been abducted. The complainant suggested that her daughter’s friend and her friend’s acquaintance might be involved in the incident.
Police forces in Irkutsk were immediately mobilized to search for the missing woman and establish all the circumstances of the incident. Just a few hours later, investigators found that the victim was in fact visiting a relative, and that her life and health were not in danger.
It later became known that the reason for contacting law enforcement was a conflict that arose between the allegedly abducted woman and her friend.
At present, an inquiry is being conducted into this fact, based on the results of which a legal decision will be made. Article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for liability for knowingly false reporting of a crime in the form of a fine of between one hundred thousand and three hundred thousand rubles, or in the amount of the salary or other income of the convicted person for a period of one to two years, or compulsory labor for a term of up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term.
