Irkutsk police shut down an illegal gambling den operating as a billiard club. Inside were billiard tables, slot machines and poker tables. The equipment was seized, and the owners face a large fine.
In order to gain access to the establishment operating under the sign of a billiards club, the officers enlisted the help of emergency rescue service workers. After the metal door was forced open, police officers found in the premises, in addition to billiard tables, about a dozen “one-armed bandits” and several poker tables. The security guard there admitted that all the customers are known by face here — an outdoor surveillance camera is installed on the entrance door.At present, all the equipment has been seized and placed in an impound lot for subsequent destruction. Irkutsk police are conducting inspection measures aimed at identifying the owners of the illegal business. For organizing and illegally conducting gambling, they face administrative liability with payment of a large fine.
