In Irkutsk, the list of places forbidden for children to visit is updated every year, now it has 21 venues, including specialized liquor stores, erotic goods shops and strip bars. New addresses are found during police raids and juvenile commission checks, and this year especially many such places were found in the Sverdlovsky district. Interestingly, most new alcohol stores open on the ground floors of new apartment buildings in Irkutsk.

Such a decision was made by the expert commission to determine places prohibited for children to visit, headed by the chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Culture, Vyacheslav Ivanov. As of today, the list of places prohibited for children to visit includes 21 establishments: these are specialized alcohol stores, outlets selling erotic goods, and strip bars.
The list, approved by the Irkutsk City Duma, is adjusted once a year. Existing and new outlets are identified during raids by employees of police departments and the commission on juvenile affairs and the protection of their rights. This year, the opening of three specialized alcohol stores was recorded in the Pravoberezhny District. Another 9 new addresses were identified in the Sverdlovsky District – mainly these are specialized alcohol stores.
Head of the Department for Work with the Population of the Committee for the Administration of the Sverdlovsky District, Galina Rodina, said that most of the newly identified alcohol outlets are opening on the ground floors of new buildings in Irkutsk, and the largest amount of housing under construction is located precisely in the Sverdlovsky District.
