In Irkutsk, the art project USSR 2061 Future Worth Living To See is opening for the first time, uniting artists, writers, readers, and critics. The exhibition shows a future with space flights, grand projects, and creative work, and aims to make people think about what we strive for and why we live. At the opening, guests will see DJ Miol, Nikita Osipoff, and a performance by Irkutsk street art artists.

The art community (project) “USSR-2061” originated in LiveJournal in early 2011, the year of the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight. The project brings together artists, writers, readers, and critics. The idea that united the works of illustrator artists from all over the country is clearly expressed in the name: it is an image of the future that one wants to live to see, to see with one’s own eyes, to touch, to feel, to take part in. Space flights, grand projects, a world of creative endeavor and meaningful work — this is what the exhibition participants dream about.
The exhibition “USSR-2061: The Future One Wants to Live to See” is being held in Irkutsk for the first time. Before this, the project was successfully implemented in Moscow, Sevastopol, Taganrog, and other cities. As the organizers and creators emphasize, the project is neither commercial nor political. Its goal is to create and convey to viewers, readers, and visitors a picture of our possible future, to encourage a search for the meaning of today, to understand what we want, what we strive for, and what we live for.
At the opening of the “USSR-2061” exhibition, a performance by DJ Miol, Nikita Osipoff, as well as a performance by a team of Irkutsk street art artists is expected. Organizers: Sergey (89500519987) and Alexandra (89086680065). Information about the project is available on the VKontakte social network page: vk.com/irk_ussr2061.
