City authorities are intensifying inspections at Shanghai Market. Illegal trade, migration and land law violations, and many problems with upkeep and traffic rules have already been found. In the coming days fire inspectors and Rospotrebnadzor specialists will join the raids, and checks will be daily until order is restored. The plan is to close all illegal stalls on S. Perovskaya Street and turn the area into a full pedestrian zone with parking and orderly trade.

Today, the main violations are: illegal business activity, violation of the rules for the stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation, illegal use of foreign labor, violations of land legislation, unauthorized trade, violations of landscaping and sanitary conditions, as well as numerous violations of traffic rules. In the coming days, fire inspectors and specialists from Rospotrebnadzor will join the inspectors, and the list of violations will likely expand.
The city authorities are determined: inspectors will conduct checks daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., except on Monday (on this day, “Shankhayka” is closed), until order is restored. Plans include creating a full-fledged pedestrian zone in this area, increasing the number of parking lots, and bringing trade into a civilized framework. All illegal trading points that currently exist on S. Perovskaya St. will be closed.
