Moscow registry office refuses to register a boy with the unusual name BOCH RVF 260602, saying it is in the childs interest, and his parents have tried to challenge the decision even in the Strasbourg court, but unsuccessfully. The case has dragged on for years, the child still has no birth certificate, residence registration, or health insurance, and the family refuses to change the name. The report also explains why the parents insist on the abbreviation and how the father plans to change his own name to a similar code designation.
The capital’s civil registry office refuses to issue a birth certificate and register the child whom the parents named BOCh RVF 260602, in the interests of the boy himself. The parents, in turn, not wanting to give their child another name, appealed to the Strasbourg Court. But there they refused to hear the case.“This case was considered by more than one court instance, but the parents were still denied registration of the child with such a name. All this was done to protect the interests of the baby himself. After all, parents should think about the child himself, about how he will live with such a name, and not about their ambitions,” said Tatiana Ushakova, deputy head of the main department of the Moscow civil registry office, according to RIA Novosti.
The parents, in turn, do not want to give their child any other name except BOCh RVF 260602, which stands for “Biological Object of a Human of the Voronin-Frolov family, born on June 26, 2002.”
At the same time, the deputy head of the department noted that there is no law prohibiting such names. She added that the parents also applied to the Strasbourg Court, where they refused to hear the case.
At the same time, as journalists from Moskovsky Komsomolets found out, the Biological Object of a Human has robust health, an obedient disposition, and standard thinking.
That is the entire brief description of the boy whom his parents named BOCh RVF 260602 at birth.
For the seventh year now, the Biological Object of a Human has been living without a birth certificate, without registration, without a medical insurance policy. It is as if the person does not exist.
The father of the Biological Object of a Human, temporarily unemployed Vyacheslav Voronin, hates his own name. That is why he asks in advance to be addressed either by his surname or not at all. And in the near future, the man seriously intends to take a new name for himself — BOCh RVP 250856 (Biological Object of a Human of the Voronin-Parkhomenko family, born on August 25, 1956).
“I hate my name because it means ‘slave’! No one has ever called me Vyacheslav, even my son calls me Yaya,” Voronin began. “I want to take the name BOCh RVP 250856 — that is exactly how I sign in my passport. By the way, now most of my friends intend to change their stupid names to the abbreviation BOCh.”
Speaking about the story of the lawsuit in the Strasbourg Court, Voronin noted: “They refused to hear our case there. They did not specify the reason for the refusal, understanding that any comment from their side would be an accusation against our justice system. It is clear to me that representatives of the Strasbourg Court would in any case have issued a decision in our favor, which would have led to an international scandal. After all, in the West such names are the norm. For example, I know that a girl lives in Europe — A22, and there are also entire families whose members bear names with coded meanings. In Russia, however, they explained to me that only patriarchs and tsars have the right to ‘bear’ numbers!”
