The regional stage of the Presidential Sports Games has started in Irkutsk Region, after which the team for the national final in Orlyonok will be chosen. Schoolchildren born in 2001 and 2002 will compete in street basketball, pioneerball, target shooting and cycling, and individually in athletics and swimming. Organizers note that the competitions are held in several stages and bring together the regions best school teams.
The Presidential Sports Games are held in four stages: school, municipal, regional, and final (all-Russian). The first stage was held in general education institutions in September-December of last year, and the second - in the municipalities of the Irkutsk Region from January to April 2014. Now it is time to choose the best team, which will go to the final stage of the competition at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Orlyonok” in Krasnodar Krai in September of this year.The regional stage of the competition features teams of schoolchildren born in 2001-2002. The program includes team competitions in street basketball, pioneerball, target shooting, as well as cycling. Individual events will include athletics and swimming.
The organizers of the tournament are the regional organizing committee for holding the all-Russian sports competitions (games) of schoolchildren, the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the region, the Ministry of Education of the region, the Regional State Budgetary Institution “Resource and Methodological Center for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the Irkutsk Region,” as well as the working group for holding the Presidential Competitions.
