Irkutsk joined the international Green Creativity Hour campaign, held in 30 countries and bringing together over 3 thousand participants. On Olkhon Island they created the Return of the Angel installation, and in Listvyanka divers cleaned the Baikal bottom of trash. The campaign was part of the Baikal. Point of Return eco creativity forum festival and drew attention to nature conservation through art and real action.

Irkutsk supported the international campaign “Hour of Green Creativity.” Architects, designers, artists, fashion designers, and folk craft masters from different cities across Russia came to Olkhon Island specifically to take part in the international campaign “Hour of Green Creativity.” It took place simultaneously in 30 countries with the participation of more than 3,000 people. On one day, in different parts of the planet, people spent one hour (from 13 to 14 o’clock in their time zone) doing something useful for the planet or creating artistic works to draw attention to protecting the Earth from harmful human impact. Because of the time difference, “Hour of Green Creativity” lasted a full day in different corners of the planet.
On this day, sculptures were created from available materials. On the sandy dunes of Olkhon Island, the installation “The Return of the Angel” appeared during “Hour of Green Creativity.” The angel sketch was designed by Irkutsk designer Valeria Pelikh. With the help of social networks, the “angel” “traveled” around the planet that day: all interested people posted photos with the green angel on social networks. Thus, it has already “visited” Myanmar, Italy, the USA, China, and other countries. The campaign was supported by singer Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev, Spanish designer Vicente Garcia Jimenez, and other well-known people.
At the same time in Listvyanka, near Shaman-Stone, the bottom of Lake Baikal was being cleared of trash accumulated over the years by the Irkutsk DiveCenter “Sval.”
The “Hour of Green Creativity” campaign in the Irkutsk Region is being held as part of the forum-festival of ecological creativity “Baikal. Point of Return,” organized by the head of the autonomous non-profit organization “Creators,” Lyubov Mozhaeva, and the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Administration of Irkutsk.
