A youth delegation has been formed in the Irkutsk Region to take part in the “Generation of Knowledge” session of the All-Russian Youth Forum “Seliger,” which will be held from August 22 to 29. The delegation includes ten people—senior students from universities in the Irkutsk Region, graduate students, and assistants at departments of social sciences: historians, political scientists, economists, and sociologists.
“Generation of Knowledge” is a unique session of the All-Russian Youth Forum “Seliger-2014,” in which only 1,500 people from all over Russia will be able to take part. Young people will have the opportunity to talk with heads of federal government bodies, exchange experience, make new acquaintances, and expand professional connections. Historians, political scientists, economists, sociologists, and philosophers will be able to take part in the session,” said Yulia Ishchenko, head of the youth policy department of the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region.
Over the summer, young people from the Irkutsk Region took part in the following sessions of the All-Russian Youth Forum “Seliger-2014”: “Run After Me,” “Team 2018,” “Information Flow,” “Student Organizations,” “Young Lawyers of Russia,” “Spiritual Foundations of Russia,” “Librarian of the Future,” “Teacher of the Future,” “Public Associations,” “International Session,” “Youth Tourism,” and others.
This year, the All-Russian Youth Forum “Seliger” is jubilee and is being held for the tenth time. The forum’s goal is to create a platform where any young person and team can demonstrate their talent, increase human capital, find like-minded people, and receive public and state support. In different years of “Seliger,” the forum has been attended by top state officials, federal ministers, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, governors of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as well-known Russian scientists, television presenters, directors, actors, writers, musicians, artists, coaches, and athletes. Anyone who wishes may take part in “Seliger.”
