Irkutsk firefighters Stanislav Khismatulin and Alexander Filippovich became winners of the all Russian contest There is an idea, presenting useful developments for their service. Their inventions, a shutoff ball valve and a stand for testing fire ropes and belts, were first recognized as the best in Siberia, then at the federal stage in Moscow. Their practical benefit is especially notable, they save time at work and are already used in fire stations.
Last year, in August, the head of Fire Station No. 5 of the city of Irkutsk, Stanislav Khismatulin, and the deputy head of Fire Station No. 20 of the city of Tulun, Alexander Filippovich, jointly presented their innovative ideas at the regional stage of the all-Russian contest “There’s an Idea!”. Stanislav invented the “Shut-off Ball Valve,” and Alexander the “Stand for Testing Fire Hoses and Belts.” After passing the regional stage of the contest, the Irkutsk residents achieved top places and were already competing at the level of the Siberian Federal District. According to the results among Siberian innovations, the inventions of the Irkutsk residents became the best of their kind and, moreover, at the federal final stage, which was already held in Moscow, the Irkutsk residents were among nine laureates who received cash prizes and diplomas from Russia’s Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Irkutsk Region.Afterwards, the chief author of one of the inventions, Stanislav Khismatulin, said that the idea for his project did not arise out of nowhere, but was born as a result of daily practical work at the fire station. Firefighters working at great heights often have to go down to disconnect the pump in order to extend the hose line.
Thanks to the invention, this necessity disappears, since the water supply can be stopped at any section of the hose line; in addition, this device makes it possible, when necessary, to replace hoses that have failed during operation. As is known in firefighting, saved time plays an important role; it can mean both lives saved and a fire source localized in time. Stanislav also mentioned that he has several more interesting and useful ideas prepared for the next contest. The inventions of the Irkutsk firefighters are already actively used in their stations. The developers hope that their useful inventions will find wide application in their field.
