At the Irkutsk Land exhibition of municipalities of Irkutsk Region, the Irkutsk pavilion received one of five Golden Stars. The multimedia interactive museum impressed guests with modern design, digital technology, and a story of the citys development in healthcare, sports, and tourism. In three days, more than 1,500 people visited the pavilion, and its program included workshops, business games, and an eco quest.

The results of the annual exhibition of achievements of the municipalities of the Irkutsk Region, “Land of Irkutsk,” have been summed up. The event is being held for the 14th time and, by tradition, is timed to coincide with the celebration of Irkutsk Region Days.
At the ceremonial closing of the exhibition, the “Irkutsk” pavilion, which showcased the achievements of the regional center, was the first to receive the exhibition award — one of five “Golden Stars.”
The “Irkutsk” pavilion was designed as a multimedia interactive museum. The central element of the exhibition was the snow-white four-meter Amur Gate, on which the image of historic Irkutsk was visualized using projection equipment. Nearby were plasma panels styled as old windows. The window-screens displayed videos reflecting the development of three important areas of city life — healthcare, sports, and tourism. Another key element of the exhibition was a multitouch table, where visitors could view a presentation of an interactive map of the city of Irkutsk, as well as take an online literacy test. Overall, the pavilion reflected the concept of the development of modern Irkutsk — a historic city looking toward the future. A city with a rich heritage and one that actively uses modern digital technologies.
Over the three days the pavilion was open, more than 1,500 residents of Irkutsk and the region visited it. The “Irkutsk” pavilion served as a venue for business games, robotics and gift-wrapping workshops, and an environmental quest. Participants in the pavilion program included schoolchildren, activists of the Irkutsk environmental movement, representatives of a vintage dance studio, graduates of the “Grandma Glamour” courses, and others.
The “Irkutsk” pavilion received high praise from exhibition participants. According to the curator of the Irkutsk exposition, director of the MAU “Holiday” Mikhail Zubkov, “colleagues from other municipalities often came up to us and noted the originality of the design solution, the stylishness of the exposition, and the use of modern technical achievements. And that is the most important thing, because the goal of the exhibition is not to boast about one’s successes, but to show one’s best experience and share it with colleagues. As the Mayor of Irkutsk, Viktor Kondrashov, said, the Irkutsk Region is one of the most beautiful and richest regions in our country. And our main task is to unite and, through joint efforts, make it strong and successful.”
In 2013, Irkutsk was also awarded the exhibition’s “Golden Star,” and in 2012 — the “Silver” one.
