In Irkutsk, from October 20 to December 28, the charity marathon Youth 3D, Youth does good for children, will be held for the second time. Its goal is not one time actions, but ongoing help for orphaned children and kids in difficult life situations, with city organizations and volunteers. Last year the marathon united 14 organizations and helped 1195 children receive New Year gifts, and this year the organizers again invite everyone to join the good cause.
From October 20 to December 28, the charity marathon called “Youth 3D” - Youth Do Good for Children will be held for the second time in the city of Irkutsk. The charity marathon will begin with the IV Charity Week, organized by the Center for Youth Social Initiatives “Voluntary Choice!”. The opening of Charity Week will take place on October 20 at 14:00 at the following address: Irkutsk, 6 Nizhnyaya Naberezhnaya St., assembly hall. The marathon is coordinated by the Irkutsk administration, the municipal public institution “City Organization for the Development of Public Activity” (MKU “GOROD”), and the Center for Youth Social Initiatives “Voluntary Choice!”.
According to the organizers, the goal of the marathon should not be one-time actions, but rather the ongoing involvement of public organizations in Irkutsk in holding events to provide centralized assistance to orphaned children and children who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances.
As a reminder, the charity marathon in Irkutsk was held for the first time in 2013.
Fourteen organizations took part in the marathon, including volunteer centers, educational institutions, and many volunteers from Irkutsk. Each participant chose a social institution to support, carrying out various activities with the children (classes, trainings, theatrical performances, workshops, etc.). Volunteers also collected information about gifts that the children would like to receive from Father Frost for the New Year.
To fulfill the children’s wishes, the organizations looked for sponsors. In December, the final stage of the marathon took place — presenting gifts to the children through costume performances and games.
In total, 13 social institutions were selected last year, such as Sanatorium Boarding School No. 12, Sanatorium Orphanage No. 2, the orphanage boarding school for mentally disabled children, and others. Thanks to the marathon, 1,195 children received their New Year gifts.
The organizers invite everyone who wishes to take part in the “Youth 3D” marathon, because anyone can do good!
