This week, a commission inspection is being conducted of information on the total number of animals captured, the quality and conditions of their keeping, as well as the performance of other types of work provided for by the special municipal contract. The city of Irkutsk was allocated a subsidy from the regional budget in the amount of just over nine million rubles. The general contractor was MUEP “Gorzelenkhoz,” which in turn concluded subcontract agreements with LLC “Dalpromles,” the K-9 kennel, and LLC “Five Stars.” Veterinary and sanitary aspects are being monitored by the Veterinary Service of the Irkutsk Region.
As a result of today’s inspection for October 13, 2014, violations were found at one of the subcontractors. Representatives of the general contractor and the administration had previously pointed out these shortcomings as well, but they have still not been fully eliminated. The inspection is ongoing.
According to preliminary data from MUEP “Gorzelenkhoz,” the limit for capturing stray animals will be exhausted by the end of October. In this regard, the Committee for Urban Development of the Irkutsk administration has sent a request to the Veterinary Service with a proposal for additional funding for measures to capture, transport, and keep stray animals in the city of Irkutsk.
